One more day

He walked towards the lane that led to his house. It’s been years since he’s been here and was nostalgic. The house was in ruins since nobody lived there in three years. Wild trees have grown in and around the house making it look like it was built ages before anyone inhabited the place.
As he walked around the corner of the road, he could see a bulb with a dim light, hanging in the patio. The house looked just like it was five years ago. He started sweating.

“Who could be inside the house? Nobody informed us about anyone occupying the place!” He thought.

He stood at the corner and watched.

A few moments later, a man in faded blue tee and beige pants walked out of the back door and washed his hands. He kept looking at the man without moving an inch. The man suddenly looked up and started watching him as tears rolled down his eyes.

“Dad!”

His dad passed away five years ago. He ran towards the house, crying. His shirt was drenched in sweat and his eyes, in tears. He ran as fast as he could.
An hour passed…

Are you okay, man?” An old man woke him up “I found you unconscious near the house around the corner. Can you sit?

He looked around, surprised. He felt tired and frustrated. Standing up seemed to be a difficult task now but he had to.

“Thank you, sir. I’m okay. I gotta get going.”

He walked to the house hoping to find his dad again.
