People aren’t against you, they’re for themselves.

Wow. Just wow. This quote would last for ages. Just look at how accurately it sums up the mindset of people regardless of generation gap. Everybody can be taken as an example for this. We know that people come and go. Have you noticed why they do that? People come for a reason. What could that be? Because you have something they need or lack. You’re surrounded by friends? Cool. Do you know why? Cool people are never surrounded by someone cooler than  them. In fact, awesome people are made awesome by average people. There would be no superstars if there aren’t any ‘average’ people who make them what they are. You think movie stars are great? Stop watching their movies, what are they now? You love people who’re extraordinary because you can’t do what they can.

My friend once had an excellent advice for me which I thought was stupid and lacked morale. He said, “Know people’s greatest fears and use it against them. They’ll think you’re better than them. Just don’t let them realize they’re the victims.” Great advice, eh? It’s basically manipulation. Only degraded people do such things, right? Well, how about this, every other person you encounter in your life does the same thing. Some know what they’re doing and some don’t. What I’m trying to tell you is, people are born selfish. They don’t want anything from you. They just want everything for themselves. Know the difference.

Let’s take an example. Why do people want you to succeed? As far as I’ve seen, they feel strong when they have someone strong beside them. The good thing here is, they want you to succeed. The bad thing? They want you to make them strong. Everyone is with you when you’re happy because they forget their problems when  they celebrate with you and when you’re in trouble, people now have their own shit, so they can’t help you out.

What can we do to survive? “We just have to convince others that we’re useful to them while using them for our greed. ” Another piece of great advice from another friend. But I still believe there’s something good in everyone. I believe in people. What’s life without hope and belief? Maybe I’m selfish too because I try to find my happiness elsewhere. It’s hard to find your happiness in others but when you get addicted to pain, it gets easier for you.

You either stand up for yourself or for others, it’s upto you. But are you ready to own it?
