Ruins.

I’m not afraid of a voice that’s raised;

I’m scared of the stories that hide, suppressed inside your head.

I’m unfazed when angry fists levitate;

It’s the disrupted world we live in, that has me dazed.

A liberal mind,

That’s racist to the other kind;

A light that blinds

Paves a darker road and day turns into night.

When the fire that burns within you

Is also the fire that burns the society,

When your silence

Has the words that could stop a war,

When you act

When you want but not when necessary,

When you sleep

When the world needs you wide awake,

What is the name that you give yourself, brother?

What is that path that you’ve taken, sister?

There’s no road that can lead to paradise.

There is no sky that can fit in your naked eye.

Why don’t you realise?

Why don’t you see?

This is our world

This was your father’s dream.

            1. I find it fairly interesting to talk with people of different cultures and different lifestyles. It makes you understand the person more.
              Perhaps one of the hardest truths to face is that without my religion I would’ve committed suicide a long time ago. Another truth is that people I know who cut have stopped cutting after they found out it’s forbidden. I guess you can say religion can be a tether for a while before it progresses into a lifestyle.

            2. It’s okay; feel free. That is true. That’s actually very true. Religion can sometimes be merely practised without…how do I word this? Without actual belief? I’m not sure if that makes sense 😂

  1. It’s a beautiful poem, worded really well, but can you explain it to me, cause I am still stuck on the last line… By chance “father’s dream” does this refer to Tagore’s poem “where the mind is without fear” where he prayed for such a world to his Father?
