The time pass post.


Instant noodles in the bowl? Check.

Water until the noodles submerge? Check.

Now to turn the stove on, see that the fire is slim. The tastemaker/masala is ready, all I have to do is wait until the noodles soften.

Five minutes later, I’m still standing by the stove waiting. They said it takes 2 minutes to make noodles. Brazen liars.

Ten minutes later, I pour the excess water out so that the noodles aren’t too soft. It’s finally time to add masala, then garam masala, then a pinch of chicken masala, some green chilli sauce, then some tomato ketchup, some soy sauce and peri peri to enhance the taste and texture.

In spite of all the care taken, noodles are still tangled and sticky. I don’t know how they do it in the advertisements, that perfect non sticky noodle.

Nevertheless, I’m done making my evening snack.

  3. Lol. This made me laugh. You should have written this to cheer me up. 😛 Btw, try frying some veggies in oil first. When they are fried sufficiently, add water. Let it cook. Add some more water. Let it boil. Add the noodles to the boiling water. Let it cook. You might find the noodles to be less stickier 😉

  10. I am ALWAYS surprised how they make noodles in 2 minutes….it takes me 20 whole minutes to make😒….someone should really teach us how they make it in 2 mins!!

  13. Take less water dude 😂😂 and ant 2 minutes that’s a total lie, it takes me 15 to 20 mins to get my maggi ready based on how I am cooking it btw try adding cheese it maybe you’ll like it.

    You should indeed take less water at beginning, brother. Other than that, I first boil water and masala together and drop in the noodles after few mins. This one seems to work for me😉

      Sauces and their proportions vary each time I make noodles. It’s always pungent though.

    I think your little query has been cleared above, but in case you still want to drain that excess water, then add a slight bit of oil in those noodles after draining that water. That can work too. 🙂

    On a serious note… Take less water in the beginning… When you discard the excess water after boiling, you essentially are discarding the fat/oil portions required for the noodles to stay untangled. 😜😂
