I wish it were a cigarette that I’m holding but tea would do. I’m addicted. Temperatures have slumped since the past few days owing to cyclone in the neighbouring state. It’s a good feeling. I haven’t felt like this in days. The afternoon ended.
Politicians are busy canvassing. They give out fake promises and empathy for people. I admire their audacity and our foolishness. We’re used to it, aren’t we? No matter whom we give our vote to, it’s always an asshole who only thinks about himself. I’m really curious how long the new road will last. The only good thing about elections are new roads. They are like our hopes for a better future. They die out and you neither mind nor notice. All we need are promises.
I’m stuck in traffic. It’s the damned politicians. I’ve never seen them, I don’t recognise any either by name or by face. I know they’re up to no good. It’s been half hour, should’ve been home by now. They’re blocking roads and stopping people in their tracks so that we listen to what they say. Half the people just want to go home. They don’t care. We’ve had a long day, we don’t want to spare a minute listening to your bullshit. They don’t give a shit. They never have.
Do they have any idea of the discomfort we are in when they preach and roam around us asking for votes? Delaying things, wasting time? We’re hungry, our family waits for us, we have other things to do. We don’t care about you! We’re not interested in politics. We vote for whoever we think is the right person knowing they’re corrupt. They say they serve people yet their houses are bigger than those they serve.
Long live whatever the fuck that shall.
