Uh….. I’m just sayin’

I wish it were a cigarette that I’m holding but tea would do. I’m addicted. Temperatures have slumped since the past few days owing to cyclone in the neighbouring state. It’s a good feeling. I haven’t felt like this in days. The afternoon ended.

Politicians are busy canvassing. They give out fake promises and empathy for people. I admire their audacity and our foolishness. We’re used to it, aren’t we? No matter whom we give our vote to, it’s always an asshole who only thinks about himself. I’m really curious how long the new road will last. The only good thing about elections are new roads. They are like our hopes for a better future. They die out and you neither mind nor notice. All we need are promises.

I’m stuck in traffic. It’s the damned politicians. I’ve never seen them, I don’t recognise any either by name or by face. I know they’re up to no good. It’s been half hour, should’ve been home by now. They’re blocking roads and stopping people in their tracks so that we listen to what they say. Half the people just want to go home. They don’t care. We’ve had a long day, we don’t want to spare a minute listening to your bullshit. They don’t give a shit. They never have.

Do they have any idea of the discomfort we are in when they preach and roam around us asking for votes? Delaying things, wasting time? We’re hungry, our family waits for us, we have other things to do. We don’t care about you! We’re not interested in politics. We vote for whoever we think is the right person knowing they’re corrupt. They say they serve people yet their houses are bigger than those they serve.

Long live whatever the fuck that shall.

    1. The youth who are in politics are equally corrupted. I’ve been around some and trust me, they’re worse too. And younger population is becoming conservative, I’m afraid. Nobody likes to discuss about flaws in castes or religion.

        1. People who want to serve don’t stand a chance, those who do serve themselves. We are responsible.

    1. I’m disappointed in the younger generation too. Half of them are idiots who just want everything for themselves. Every person I’ve met only thinks of making money and living a rich life If given a chance.

Roads are the best part of elections. I had this road to my school built overnight because someone was visiting. That road was in horrible condition till then and a month after it rained, it was back to normal. Quick work quick recovery.😂🤷‍♀️

        1. If you tell people what you actually can do, they don’t trust you. If you tell them you’ll establish a university which guarantees a job even to failed students, they’ll buy it.
          People want bullshit.

            1. That’s the standard answer you have for everything, eh? Consider this: you promise people you’ll build bridges and roads wherever necessary and promise to decrease unemployment, not get rid of it because getting rid of unemployment is a myth. People lose jobs. It’s a cycle. That’s how there are vacancies; or tell them you’ll pay ₹15000 per vote. What do people consider?

We have elections in the coming year and I can see the problems that I am facing and about to face.
